The procedure for recording your singing or playing along
with a midifile, GEM song, Mp3 or CD-Track is simple. First,
use the SONG PLAYER to select the song that you want to
play. Now you can press play and listen to the song playback
while you set up the sound that you want to play along with
or adjust the microphone level and effects. Remember that
you can use the CD, Mp3 or Song/Seq volume control to
adjust the level of the song playback relative to the micro-
phone or keyboard volume.
When everything sounds good and youre ready to start re-
cording, press RECORD and choose NEW STEREO WAVE.
Now youre ready to begin the recording. Press the REC but-
ton in the screen and then press PLAY to start the song file
playback. Now you can sing or play along with the song.
When youve finished, press STOP and you can name the
song and save it as before.
VOCAL REMOVER
The Genesys Ensemble comes complete with a VOCAL RE-
MOVER function, similar to that found on many karaoke
machines, which can be used to reduce and sometimes com-
pletely remove the vocals from a CD track.
The Vocal Remover function is found under the SONG PLAYER/
EDIT button only when you are playing a WAVE file. If you
want to remove the vocals from a CD-track you must first
convert the track to a WAVE file.
