Loading songs and sounds
Any time you load something into the Genesys Ensemble,
the procedure will be virtually the same as the previous
example. You will begin by choosing the device that con-
tains the file you want to load; Floppy Disk, Hard Disk or
CD. Then you will find the folder that contains the files you
are looking for. At this stage you can choose either to load
the entire folder, (which will erase any files of the same
type that are already in the memory), or you can look in-
side the folder to select a single file. If you select a single
file, you will be shown the existing contents of memory and
be allowed to choose where you want to put this new file.
As weve already seen, there are 64 empty spaces avail-
able when you are loading styles.
When you load a song, youll see that there are 64 empty
spaces available as well.
NOTE: Since the SONG PLAYER offers direct-from-disk
playback via the floppy disk, hard disk, CD and optional
SCSI devices, there is very little advantage to loading a
song into the instruments memory. In fact, the only time
it is actually necessary to load a song into memory is
when you want to edit or modify the song in some way.
