Changing the Split Point
In PRO SPLIT mode, the chord recognition is divided into
two parts: bass and accompaniment. The bass part is con-
trolled by the notes played on the left side of the split while
all other accompaniment parts are controlled by the chords
you play on the right side of the split. This allows you to
easily play even the most complex voicings because the
bass will be generated independently of the chord accom-
paniment parts. As an example of how PRO SPLIT might be
used, try playing a number of different chords with the
right hand while keeping the same bass note with the left
hand. A good example might be to keep a C bass while the
right hand plays the chords C major, F major, G major, Bb
major and F major. This popular and relatively simple type
of progression, (typical of pianist/vocalists), could not be
played on an arranger keyboard without the unique PRO
SPLIT function.
If you want to change the point where the keyboard splits,
select one of the split keyboard mode (BASS SPLIT, ACCOMP.
SPLIT, MANUAL BASS, PRO SPLIT), and press one of the
buttons (F7,F8) next to the word SPLIT in the screen.
Now you may either use the dial to change the split point
or simply press a key on the keyboard. The note you select
will become the lowest playable note of the right hand sec-
tion. If youre happy with this choice, press ENTER to re-
turn to the home screen.
