Playing a Midifile from a floppy disk
You may already have a floppy disk with some Midifiles on
it. Heres how to listen to your songs.
Insert the floppy disk into the drive and then go to the
SONG PLAYER/SELECT screen. Since we want to listen to a
Standard Midi File, (SMF) from a floppy disk, (FD), we need
to press FD on the left and SMF on the right.
In fact, you didnt really need to press SMF. Read the foot-
note entitled FILTERS to decide whether this is necessary
in your case.
Now you can see all of the SMFs on this disk.
You can listen to these songs exactly as before. Select the song
you want using the up and down arrows and then press PLAY.
When youre using a Midifile you can use the SOUND PRE-
SETS in the normal way to play along, (you can switch off
SINGLE mode).
You can also manipulate the tracks and change the mix in
exactly the same way we did for the GEM song example.
