MIDI
The MIDI setting of the Genesys Ensemble allow complete
flexibility to interface the Genesys Ensemble with any type
of MIDI system.
First, we will look at the way the Genesys Ensemble is nor-
mally set-up. In many cases, you will be able to use the
instrument with other MIDI device without making any
changes to the settings of the MIDI page. In the following
descriptions, all parts transmit and receive via MIDI OUT A
and MIDI IN A.
Preset MIDI channels
In FULL mode and PIANO STYLE mode, the instruments
transmits and receives on channel 8. If more than one sound
is layered, the additional sounds will be on channels 7-3 in
descending order.
In BASS SPLIT and MANUAL BASS mode, the left hand bass
sound transmits and receives on channel 2 while the right
hand sound uses channel 8, (with additional right hand
sounds utilizing channels 7-3 as above).
In ACCOMP SPLIT mode, the left hand chord sound trans-
mits and receives on channel 1 while the right hand sound
uses channel 8, (with additional right hand sounds utilizing
channels 7-3 as above).
In PRO SPLIT mode the right hand sound transmits on chan-
nel 8, (with additional right hand sounds utilizing channels
7-3 as above). The left hand sound does not transmit any
MIDI data.
