After few seconds the CD is ready and you can use the UP/
DOWN arrows to select one folder in the directory
The Genesys Ensemble can play both digital audio and MIDI
song files, (it can also be used to record both types but
that comes later!). MIDI songs, also known as Midifiles or
SMFs, (Standard Midi Files), have long been the most popu-
lar format for use with electronic keyboards. If you have
some SMF disks you can use the song player to play these
in the same way that you did for digital audio songs. GEM
for creating songs use an exclusive format which offers
much greater power that ordinary Midifiles; offering 32
tracks instead of 16, a much wider range of sounds effects
and some very special additional features.
Midi files and GEM songs
Now to play one of these song, we will use the song CD
Rom included in the Genesys Ensemble packaging. Insert
first the song CD Rom in the drive, Then select this device
pressing the button C, and enable the display visualization
only for GEM song format only pressing the button F4
