Saving Your Songs
This will be covered in the DISK section. Make sure that
you name any songs that you have created in this section
so that we can use these as examples when we work with
the DISK button.
How To Record A WAVE, (Hard Disk Recording)
Hard Disk Recording on the Genesys Ensemble is a very
simple process. In fact, itî˜ s about as easy as using a tape
recorder. Since there is no multi-tracking or editing to worry
about, recording a WAVE is really just a case of pressing
Record to start, recording your piece and then pressing
Stop.
Before you begin, you should make sure that you have
everything set up and sounding the way you want. Take as
much time as you need to tweak everything, adjusting the
volume levels of the keyboard, the microphone and any-
thing else that you have connected to the inputs. Check
the effects, the VOCAL GENIUS and anything else that you
intend to use to make sure that everything sounds right
before you start.
At this stage, especially since you are going to be recording
a little example for learning purposes, it is recommended
that you at least connect a microphone, electric guitar or
some other external instrument to one of the inputs. Fol-
low the instructions in the VOCAL GENIUS section to set up
some effects and adjust the sensitivity and volume levels
to get the best possible sound.
This is the name you will see when you are recalling, sav-
ing or loading this song in the future. There are other fields
available for inputting the full name and author/publisher
details of this song, (23 characters each) but these will
only be available to you once the song is loaded into memory.
These fields are normally only used for the SCORE display
where the full song title and author/publisher details are
displayed in the same way as they would be on a piece of
sheet music.
Once youî˜ ve given your song a name, press ENTER to con-
firm and then ESCAPE to return to the home screen.
