Common/ Arrg.
Common Channel
This channel, independent from all other settings defined
under the MIDI menu, allows a remote controller keyboard
to emulate the internal keyboard of the Genesys Ensemble.
For example, if you set up a style to play in ACCOMP. SPLIT
mode and then try to play the Genesys Ensemble from an
external controller keyboard connected to either of the MIDI
IN ports, you would normally only be able to play one of
the constituent parts of the overall setting depending on
the midi channel that the controller keyboard is sending
on. If, instead, you set the controller keyboard to the same
setting as the COMMON CHANNEL on the Genesys Ensemble,
it would allow the external controller keyboard to respond
exactly as though you were playing the internal keyboard
of the Genesys Ensemble. It also allows an external key-
board to play the styles of the Genesys Ensemble. For ex-
ample, if you wanted another instrument, like a digital pi-
ano, to play the Genesys Ensemble styles in the left hand
section of its keyboard, simply create a split keyboard set-
ting on the instrument where the left hand region is set to
the same channel as the Genesys Ensemble COMMON
CHANNEL.
