VOCAL GENIUS MODES
The VOCAL GENIUS has three different modes which can be
useful depending on the way you play and the particular
vocal effect that you want to achieve. Until now, weve only
been using the system in CHORD mode. You can see this
mode selected at the right side of the screen.
CHORD mode is primarily designed when you are playing
with the styles and wish to have the harmony voices accom-
panying the chord changes of the song
The other two modes available are VOCODER and UNISON.
Each has its own particular use and application. Lets take a
look at these other modes.
Vocoder Mode
In Chord Mode, you may have noticed that the harmony voices
changed depending on which notes you were actually singing.
In Vocoder mode the harmony voices are forced to sing exactly
the notes that are being played, regardless of what notes you are
singing. This mode is extremely useful for a number of purposes.
1. Creating vintage vocoder effects
2. Commanding the harmony group to sing specific
harmony voicings.
3. Allowing the harmony voicings to be controlled by a
track of a midifile.
