When you load a sound into the Genesys Ensemble you have
two choices: you can either load the sound into its default loca-
tion or you can choose an alternative location for it. The default
location is a suggested location number that the programmer of
the sound assigned when he created it. These default locations
typically place the sound in the most appropriate family; so a
guitar sound might have a default location of 25-12, (which is
an empty space in the guitar family). So whats the advantage
of putting the sound in a different location?
If you are going to load a number of new sounds in one session,
its sometimes easier to put all the sounds in adjacent locations
so that you can access all of them from the same bank in the
same family. This means that you can keep the same screen
visible and have simultaneous access to all your new sounds as
you need them and without having to search around in different
families. Its your choice to use whichever system you prefer.
Here we have plenty of empty spaces which we can start to
fill with new sounds. Make a mental note of these numbers
or write them down on a piece of paper; 1-9, 2-9, 3-9 etc.
Now lets press the
DISK button and
find a folder which
contains some new
sounds. Select HD
on the left side and
scroll down to the
DEMO2 folder.
