Pile the bales up in that way that the face sides of the bales are located horizontally to the
ground (bales are standing). Eliminate sheet damage immediately with adhesive strips. The
wrapped bales must be used up to 12 months after wrapping.
Note
The storage area should not intended to be in high grass, on hedges, fences, buildings or
under trees.
Compacted bales with the recommended dry matter can be piled threefoldly, while loose
compacted or too moist bales cannot be piled on top of each other.
A layer consisting of water permeable material which contains no sharp objects (for example
sand) serves as top layer for all stored bales. An additional safety device by protecting strips for
birds or polypropylene silage nets is recommended .
Fence the bearing area in, so that it cannot be reached by cattle.
Check the bale packs regularly. Protect the bales against the infestation of bugs by using
pesticides according to manufacturer’s recommendations. The applicable environment
regulations must be heeded for this.
Note
Chemicals like fertilizers, herbicides, mineral oils and solvents accelerate the decomposition of
the sheet. It is necessary to avoid that such chemicals soak on the sheet.
