GATE
The GATE setting controls the position on the RF DISPLAY where the XY flying
dot display is computed. The GATE position determines the signal amplitude
and phase on the XY display. To obtain the best results, set the GATE to the left of
the first maximum peak on the RF DISPLAY, or on its maximum peak. The
AUTO gate setting will automatically read the value for the maximum signal
position.
To change the GATE setting, press the D key, and then rotate the knob to the
desired gate value.
RF DISPLAY
The RF DISPLAY setting controls the display and can be set to RF or IMPULSE
mode. (The name “IMPULSE” originates from earlier products.) The IMPULSE
display uses an envelope filter that is applied over the RF filter.
To change the RF DISPLAY setting, press the E key, and then rotate the knob to
the desired value.
CYCLES
The CYCLES setting is used to control the number of cycles of the signal in the
tone burst in the PC RF and IMPULSE display modes, and is adjustable between
1 and 10.
To change the CYCLES setting, press the MAIN menu key ( ) followed by
the A key, and then rotate the knob to the desired number of cycles.
H/V GAIN (horizontal/vertical gain)
The H/V GAIN setting applies to display modes (RUNs) that use the XY display.
This parameter allows separate control of the horizontal and vertical gain on the
XY display.
To change the H/V GAIN, press the MAIN menu key ( ) once or twice
(depending on the RUN selected), followed by the B key, and then rotate the knob
to the desired value.
H GAIN (horizontal gain)
The H GAIN setting controls the horizontal (X) gain, and applies to RUNs using
an XY display.
To change the H GAIN, press the MAIN menu key ( ) once or twice
(depending on the RUN selected), followed by the C key, and then rotate the knob
to the desired value.
