5th gear sprockets and synchronisers: Removal - Refitting

a Engage fifth gear by moving the fifth gear fork.
a Remove:
-the output shaft bolt (3) ,
-the input shaft nut (4) ,
-the washer (5) of the input shaft nut,
-the fifth gear fork and selector rod (6) .
a Position the (Bvi. 1170) (7) .
a Remove:
- the fifth gear hub fitted with its synchroniser springs
(8) ,

Note:
The purpose of this operation is to lock the gear-
box shafts in order to facilitate loosening.

Note:
Turn the tool (Bvi. 1170) in order to position the
splines of the tool selector rod opposite the fifth
gear hub.
