REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Remove the brake pedal brake light switch (see
37A, Mechanical component controls, Brake
pedal switch: Removal - Refitting, page 37A-27) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the connecting shaft (1) between the brake
pedal and the brake servo pushrod:
-unlock the shaft in accordance with (2) ,
-extract the shaft in accordance with (3) .
a Remove the brake pedal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace the parts always to be replaced:
Connecting shaft between the brake pedal and
the brake servo pushrod.
a Check the condition of the parts.
a Replace any faulty parts.
a Coat the shaft with MOLYKOTE 33M (see Vehicle:
Parts and consumables for the repair) grease
(MR 388, 04B, Consumables - Products).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- the brake pedal,
- the brake pedal shaft.
a Torque tighten the brake pedal shaft nut (16 N.m).
a Refit a new connecting shaft between the brake pe-
dal and the brake servo pushrod:
- insert the shaft in accordance with (6) ,
- lock the shaft in accordance with (7) .
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the brake light switch (see 37A, Mechanical
component controls, Brake pedal switch: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 37A-27) .
Tightening torquesm
brake pedal shaft nut 16 N.m
