REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Release the parking brake.
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment.
a Remove the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and ty-
res, Wheel: Removal - Refitting, page 35A-1) .
a Fit the pedal press to the brake pedal to limit the
outflow of brake fluid.
II - REMOVAL OPERATION
a Remove the brake drums (see 33A, Rear axle com-
ponents, Rear brake drum: Removal - Refitting,
page 33A-7) .
a Take out the parking brake cables (1) by pushing the
lever (2) using pliers and a screwdriver.
a Unclip:
- the parking brake cable sleeves (3) from the brake
back-plates,
- the wheel speed sensors (if fitted to the vehicle).
a Detach the rear axle wheel speed sensors (if fitted to
the vehicle).

IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 33A, Rear axle components, Rear
axle components: Precautions for the repair,
page 33A-1) .
WARNING
Prepare for the flow of fluid, and protect the sur-
rounding components.
