Parking brake lever: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Remove the centre console (see Centre console:
Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).
a Undo the handbrake adjusting nut (1) , marking the
dimension (X) = 16 mm ±±

0.30, to detach the cables
at the compensator.
II - REMOVAL OPERATION
a Unclip the two cables (2) .
a Remove nuts (3) .
a Lift the parking brake lever slightly to be able to dis-
connect the parking brake switch connector (4) .
a Remove the parking brake lever.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION
a Refit:
- the parking brake lever,
- the two cables at the compensator,
- the parking brake lever nuts.
a Connect the connector on the parking brake switch.
a Tighten the parking brake adjusting nut, observing
the dimension X = 16 mm ±±

0.30.
a Torque tighten the parking brake lever nuts (8
N.m).
II - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect the connector on the parking brake switch.
a Adjust the parking brake if the lever stops between
the first and second positions of the parking brake
lever's travel (see 37A, Mechanical component
controls, Parking brake lever: Adjustment, page
37A-30) .
a Refit the centre console (see Centre console: Re-
moval - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).
Tightening torquesm
parking brake lever nuts 8 N.m
