Parking brake cables: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove:
-the central console (see Centre console: Remov-
al - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment),
-the rear wheels (see 35A, Wheels and tyres,
Wheel: Removal - Refitting, page 35A-1) ,
-the rear brake drums (see 33A, Rear axle compo-
nents, Rear brake drum: Removal - Refitting,
page 33A-7) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the parking brake cable (1) from the lever
using pliers and a screwdriver.
a Unclip the parking brake cable sheath (2) from the
drum back-plate.
a Unclip:
- the cables (3) from their housing,
- the sheaths from their stop on the body (4) using
pliers,
a Unclip the parking brake cables from their guides.
a Remove the parking brake cables.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the parking brake cables.
a Hook the parking brake cables onto their guides.
