REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove the engine undertray.
a Remove the two expansion bottle nuts.
a Move aside the expansion bottle.
a Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector
from the reservoir.
a Remove the brake fluid filler cap.
a Drain the brake fluid reservoir until the fluid level is
below the master cylinder supply aperture.
a Remove the plug from the bleed hole.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Place a cloth under the clutch slave cylinder.
a Press the clip (1) .
a Pull out the clutch control pipe (2) by one notch to
free the bleed hole.
a Connect a transparent pipe to the bleed hole (3) and
place an empty container under the bleed hole.
a Depress the clutch pedal with your hand (to drain the
master cylinder and the clutch pipe).
a Press the slave cylinder clip (1) .
a Uncouple the pipe (2) from the slave cylinder and
place plugs on all the openings.
Tightening torquesm
expansion bottle nuts 8 N.m
Note:
Each time an operation is carried out on the
hydraulic clutch system, bleed the circuit at the fol-
lowing locations:
- between the reservoir and the bleed hole,
- between the bleed hole and the clutch thrust bear-
ing,
- for long pedal travel.

WARNING
Do not pull the clip. If it is incorrectly handled in
any way, the pipe will need to be replaced.
Note:
Expect some brake fluid to run out.
