POWER ASSISTED STEERING
Power-assisted steering pipes: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove:
-the engine cover,
-the engine undertray.
1 - Low pressure pipe between the power-assisted
steering pump and the reservoir
a Drain the power-assisted steering fluid reservoir us-
ing a syringe.
2 - High pressure pipe between the power-assisted
steering pump and the steering box
a Fit a hose clamp on the power-assisted steering
pump supply pipe.
a Drain the power-assisted steering fluid reservoir us-
ing a syringe.
a Remove the front bumper (see Front bumper: Re-
moval - Refitting) (55A, Exterior protection).
a Remove:
- the front left-hand wheel (see 35A, Wheels and ty-
res, Wheel: Removal - Refitting, page 35A-1) ,
- the front left-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting) (55A, Ex-
terior protection).
3 - Low pressure pipe between the power-assisted
steering pump and the reservoir
a Fit a hose clamp on the power-assisted steering
pump supply pipe.
Special tooling required
Mot. 1448 Remote operation pliers for
hose clips.
