Master cylinder: Removal - Refitting
LEFT-HAND DRIVE

a Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector (3)
.
a Remove the brake fluid filler cap.
a Drain the brake fluid reservoir with a syringe.
a Place a container under the master cylinder to col-
lect the brake fluid.
a Disconnect the supply pipe of the clutch master cyl-
inder.
a Remove:
-the brake fluid reservoir,
-the rigid brake pipe unions (4) from the master cyl-
inder and mark their position,
a Remove:
-the master cylinder nuts on the brake servo (5) ,
-the brake master cylinder.
a Fit blanking plugs on the openings of the master cyl-
inder and the brake pipes.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: Master cylinder seal
on brake fluid reservoir side (9) .
a parts always to be replaced: Master cylinder seal
on brake servo side (8) .
a Remove the blanking plugs.

Note:
It is essential to replace the master cylinder/
brake servo assembly when the master cylinder
leaks into the brake servo.
The brake servo becomes unusable when the
rubber membrane is contaminated with brake
fluid.
