Alarm codes beginning with a "1" mean that a failure has been detected in the RFL 93A DISPLAY module.
Codes beginning with a "2" mean that a failure has been detected in the trip relays' current sensors.
NOTE
Whenever the RESET switch is pressed, the LED indicators are tested as explained in Table 6-
1 (Item 19). If you press the RESET switch, wait at least ten seconds before pressing it again;
the RFL 9300 will not respond to the second press if you do not wait long enough.
Alarm codes beginning with a "3", "4" or “6” point out conditions detected in other modules in the RFL 9300.
Alarm codes beginning with a “5” point out conditions detected in the RFL 9300 Single-Pole chassis. The
alarms can only be cleared when the condition causing the alarm has returned to normal.
When all alarms are cleared, the display will return to the moving dot pattern, and the beeper will stop sounding.
6.4.2 THE READ MODE
The READ mode lets you view ac current values, time measurements, and RFL 9300 parameter settings. You
cannot change any parameter settings in the READ mode; if you want to change a setting, you will have to en-
ter the PROGRAM mode as described in para. 6.4.4.
6.4.2.1 ENTERING THE READ MODE
To enter the READ mode from the STANDBY mode, proceed as follows:
1. Press the [ENT] key once.
The word "READ" will appear on the top line of the display, and the word "DISABLE" will
appear on the bottom line.
2. Press the [8] key once.
The word "ENABLE" will appear on the bottom line of the display.
3. Press the [ENT] key once.
The name of the first parameter ("PNGPNG1") will appear on the top line of the display,
with the measured delay (in milliseconds) on the bottom line.
6.4.2.2 DISPLAYING PARAMETERS
During the READ mode, over 100 different parameters can appear on the RFL 9300's display. Table 6-5 is a list
of all RFL 9300 parameter codes and their definitions for two-terminal systems, and Table 6-6 is a list of all RFL
9300 parameter codes and their definitions for three-terminal systems.
Parameter #s 1 - 19 These parameters describe time and current quantities, and alarm status at the
local and remote units. The time quantities are measured and computed by the
RFL 93A CC Communications Controller Modules. The current quantities are
computed by the RFL 93A PC Phase Controller Modules. These measure-
ments are sent to the RFL 93A DISPLAY Module by the RFL 93A SV Supervi-
sor Module, and are updated once a second. These are read-only values, and
cannot be programmed.
Parameter #s 20 - 52 These parameters are programmable values except for parameter #40 (stub-
bus). Their present values or settings can be displayed while in the READ
mode. Their values or settings can only be changed when the local unit is in
the PROGRAM mode as described in para. 6.4.4 of this manual.
