installationcanbegin.Theshipownerandshipyarddoingtheinstallationareresponsible
forobtainingandpayingforsuchapproval.

Observethelimitationsduetothecablelengths.
ThedistancebetweentheTransceiverUnitandthe
transducerorhullunitisrestrictedbythelengthofthe
transducercable.Remembertotakeintoconsideration
theslacknecessarytolowerandhoistthetransducer.
Thedistancetothenearestpoweroutletisrestricted
bythelengthofthepowercable.Ifrequired,youmay
needtomovethepoweroutlet,orreplacethepower
cablewithalongertype.
Note
TheTransceiverUnitisheavy.Makesurethatthenecessarymanpowerandlifting
equipmentareavailablebeforeyoustarttheinstallationwork.
TheTransceiverUnitmustbemountedasacompleteunit.Thecabinetdoormustnotbe
openeduntiltheunitissecurelyfastenedtothebulkhead.
Procedure
1Preparethelocationandthenecessarytools.
2Observetheinstallationrequirements.
•TheTransceiverUnitmustbemountedonthebulkhead.
•Thepositionmustbechosentottheavailablecablelengthsbetweenthe
TransceiverUnitandtheotherunitsitconnectsto.
•Provideamplespacearoundtheunittoallowforinspection,maintenanceand
partsreplacement.
•Makesurethatthespaceallowstheunitdoortobefullydismountedfor
unobstructedaccesstoitsinternalparts.
