operationaluse.Thisisregardedas"gracefuldegradation”.
TheST90operateswith384individualchannelshandledby12transceiverboards.
Ifasinglechannelfailsduringnormaloperation,youarenotlikelytodetectit.
Evenifseveralchannelsfail,youmaynotseeit.
Thedetectionofafaultychanneldependsonthephysicallocationoftherelevant
transducerelement.Iffaultychannelsaregroupedtogetheronthetransducerface,
