Troubleshooting Infrastructure Modules
Label Color Status Probable Cause Troubleshooting Steps
Red Blinking Module mismatch. Plug in the correct module type
— ECM-2 or ECM-3.
Dark (unlit) Off The module is not
provisioned or no
power is supplied to
the module.
1. Ensure that the module is
properly installed in the
shelf.
2. Use the management
software to verify that the
module is correctly
provisioned.
3. Check whether the power
cables are properly
connected to the PSMs and
deliver the required power.
4. If all other modules in the
shelf are operational, unplug
the ECM-x and re-insert it. If
the LEDremains off, return
the module to ADVA Optical
Networking.
Act (non-redundant
configuration)
Green On steadily Normal operation. No action is required.
Dark (unlit) Off Module admin state is
disabled or
unassigned, module is
in dormant state, or
module failed.
1. Use the management
software to set the module
admin state to "In Service."
2. If the MODLEDis red,
return the module to ADVA
Optical Networking.
S1, S2 Green On steadily Normal operation. No action is required.
Yellow On steadily The module has raised
a signal failure alarm
View the current alarms in the
management software, and then
see the appropriate software
guide to resolve the alarm(s).
Red On steadily The module has raised
an equipment failure
alarm
View the current alarms in the
management software, and then
see the appropriate software
guide to resolve the alarm(s).
Red Blinking Plug mismatch Insert the correct SFP pluggable
transceiver.
