REALTIME CONTROLS
When you're playing a program or combination, you can use
REALTIME CONTROLS to adjust the sound or the effects in real
time, or to make simple edits.
You can also adjust the external audio input and the vocoder
function, and adjust the tempo of the arpeggiator and sequencer.
Parameters that can be operated using REALTIME
CONTROLS
If you hold down the SELECT button for several seconds, a list of
the selected functions appears. After a time, you return to the
previous page or window.
TONE 1
VELOCITY [Off: Normal Touch, On: Light Touch]
This switches between the velocity setting that is specified by the
GLOBAL mode GLOBAL>BASIC setting Velocity Curve (see
p.158) and a light-touch velocity setting.
Off (LED unlit): Normal Touch
On (LED lit): Light Touch
If this is Off, the velocity is specified by the GLOBAL>BASIC
setting Velocity Curve. This is the normal behavior.
If this is On, the velocity sensitivity is set to a light touch.
Fortissimo (ff) can be produced even with a light touch. For
example, you might select this setting if you don't want variations
in your keyboard playing dynamics to significantly affect the
volume or sound, such as when playing an analog synthesizer
sound.
The default setting is Off.
Note: The state of this setting is maintained while the power is on.
It will not change even if you switch favorites, programs,
combinations, or MIDI songs.
Note: This on/off setting cannot be saved. When the power is
turned off and then on again, the setting is reset to Off.
CUTOFF [000…127]
Adjusts the cutoff frequency of the filter. Varies the brightness of
the sound.
The default value is 64. When the knob is in the center position,
the setting will have the value specified by the program parameter.
Note: If the knob is turned from the center position toward the left
(a value of 0-63), the filter EQ intensity is controlled
simultaneously.
This corresponds to control change #74.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.
RESONANCE [000…127]
Adjusts the resonance level of the filter. Raising the filter
resonance level gives a distinctive character to the sound.
The default value is 064. When the knob is in the center position,
the setting will have the value specified by the program parameter.
This corresponds to control change #71.
Note: You can save the edited result. (see page 305)
Note: In Combination mode or Sequencer mode, you can't save the
setting.
TONE 2
OCTAVE [Off, Either -3, -2, -1, +1, +2, or +3
octaves]
Raises or lowers the pitch of the entire keyboard in steps of an
octave. When this button is on, the pitch will be raised or lowered
by the specified value. With the default setting, the pitch is
lowered one octave.
Off (LED unlit): No octave change (±0)
On (LED lit): A change of either -3, -2, -1, +1, +2, or +3 octaves
If this is On, the specified octave value is shown in the LCD for a
time. While this is shown, you can operate the PAGE- and PAGE+
buttons to change the octave setting. This is linked with the
GLOBAL mode GLOBAL>BASIC setting "Octave SW On
Value." You can save this by pressing the MENU button (WRITE).
Note: This on/off setting is maintained while the power is on. It
will not change even if you switch favorites, programs,
combinations, or MIDI songs.
Note: This on/off setting cannot be saved. When the power is
turned off and then on again, the setting is reset to Off.
