WIPING - WASHING
Windscreen wiper motor: Removal - Refitting

a Position the linkages as shown in the above illustra-
tion.
a Position the linkages as shown in the above illustra-
tion.
a Refit the windscreen wiper motor shaft nut.
a Torque tighten the windscreen wiper motor shaft
nut (16 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the windscreen wiper mechanism (see 85A, Wip-
ing - Washing, Windscreen wiper mechanism:
Removal - Refitting, page 85A-8) ,
- the scuttle panel grille.
a Connect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 80A-2) .
a Turn the wiper stalk from (0) to (1), and then from (1)
to (0).
a Refit the wiper arm (see 85A, Wiping - Washing,
Windscreen wiper arm: Removal - Refitting, page
85A-4) .

To ensure that the wiper arms can travel
smoothly, the wiper motor must be initialised.
