Bonding Group Definition
Abondinggroupisdefinedas“agroupofswitchinterfacesassignedtoasingularbridgeunit
andnetworkinterface.”
TheEFMbondinggroupbundlesmultipleSHDSLlinestogethertoprovidebandwidthequal
tothesumoftheSHDSLsbonded.Thisprocessprovidesthenecessarybandwidthforservice.
Forexample,eight
SHDSLsbondedtogetherprovideeighttimesthespeedof1SHDSL(8x
5.696=45.568Mbpsofbandwidth)totransportethernettraf fic.
Provisioning Steps
ThisprocedurecreatesanEFMbondinggroupattheGigESMthatbondsthephysicallayer
ports(SHDSL)oftheaccessmodule(s)together.
Tocreateanewbondinggroup,completethefollowingprocedure:
1. FromtheEnableprompt,type
application,andpressENTERtoaccesstheApplication
Configuratonprompt.
2. FromtheApplication Configurationprompt,type
ez-efm <shelf>,andpressENTERto
starttheEZEthernetapplication.
3. FromtheEFMConf igurationprompt,type
create WORD link <EFM links>
upstream <0-250000> downstream <0-250000> active-links-minimum <1-n>
,
andpress
ENTERtocreateanEFMBondingGroup.
