Access the T1 8-Port Line Module
ToaccesstheT18‐PortLineModule,completethefollowing:
1. FromtheTotalAccess5000Mainmenu,select
Module Menus,andpressENTER.
2. FromtheModuleMenusmenu,selectT18‐Port,andpress
ENTER.
Provision the T1 8-Port Line Module Service State
ThecardservicestatemustbesettoISorOOS‐MA.
IfthecardservicestateissettoOOS‐MA,normaloperationoccursbutalarms
arenotreported.
Tosetthecardservicestate,performthefollowingprocedure:
1. FromtheT18‐PortLineModulemenu,select
Provisioning,andpressENTER.
2. FromtheProvisioningmenu,select
Card Service State,andpressENTER.
3. FromtheCardServiceStatemenu,selecttheappropriateservicestate,andpress
ENTER.
Provision the T1 8-Port Line Module DS1 Interface Service State
ForeachDS1portbeing used,theservicestatemustbesettoIS.
TosettheDS1portservicestate,performthefollowingprocedure:
1. FromtheProvisioningmenu,select
DS1 Port Interfaces,andpressENTER.
2. FromtheDS1PortProvisioningmenu,select
Service State,andpressENTER.
3. FromtheServiceStatemenu,selecttheservicestateoftheDS1Port,andpress
ENTER.
Provision the Timing Source
ToprovisiontheT18‐Porttimingsource,completethefollowing:
1. FromtheProvisioningmenu,select
EFM Setting,andpressENTER.
2. FromtheEFMSettingsmenu,select
Timing,andpressENTER.
3. FromtheTimingmenu,select
LoopA Timing Source,andpressENTER.
4. FromtheLoopATimingSourcemenu,selecttherequiredoption,andpressEnter.
Thismenucontainsthefollowingoptions:
•SelectDS1:ThissettingallowstheentryoftheDS1timingsource.Thevalidsettings
arefrom1–8.
• None:Whenselected,thisoptiondoesnotsetthetimingsourcetotheDS1.Timing
defaultstothetimingsetintheGigESM.
5. FromtheTimingmenu,select
LoopB Timing Source,andpressENTER.
6. FromtheLoopBTimingSourcemenu,selecttherequiredoption,andpressEnter.
Thismenucontainsthefollowingoptions:
•SelectDS1:ThissettingallowstheentryoftheDS1timingsource.Thevalidsettings
arefrom1–8.
