Provision LACP
WhenconnectingtheGigESMtotheprovidernetworkinterfaceelement(normallyaswitch
orarouter),multipleconfigurationoptionscanbeused.ThecurrentBSMapplication
connectstotheexternalswitchwithasingleSwitchModuleport(NET1)fromeachSwitch
Module,usingLinkAggregationControlProtocol(LACP)to
conveyActive/Standbystatusof
eachGigESMport.
NOTE
Themaximumdatarateforthe networkinterfaceisstill1Gbps.Theuseof
LACPisindependentofusinglinkaggregationtoobtaingreaterthan1Gbps
networkconnection.ThisLACPuseisoftencalledhotstandbyLACP.
Table35displaysthethreeLACPmodes.
ToprovisionforLACP,completethefollowingprocedure:
1. FromtheEnableprompt,type
configure terminal,andpressENTERtoaccesstheGlo
balConfigurationprompt.
2. FromtheGlobalConfigurationprompt,type
interface gigabit-ethernet 1/A/1,
andpress
ENTERtoaccessthe GigE SMinslotAandtheNet1Configurationprompt.
NOTE
IfslotBistheactiveSM,use1/B/1forthe<shelf/slot/port>syntax.
3. ProvisiontheLACPModebyperformingoneofthefollowingcommands:
•Type
lacp mode active,andpressENTERtosettheportLACPmodetoactive
•Type
lacp mode passive,andpressENTERtosettheportLACPmodetopassive
•Type
no lacp mode,and pressENTERtosettheportLACPmodetodisabled
