Configure the Password Complexity
Passwordcomplexity providesoptionsthatincreaseordecreasethelevelofpasswordsecurity
byadjustingspecificlocalpasswordrequirements.Bydefault,passwordcomplexityis
disabled,placingnorestrictionsonpasswordscreatedforlocalaccounts.Toenablepassword
complexity,completethef ollowingprocedure:
1. FromtheEnableprompt,type
configure terminal,andpressENTERtoaccesstheGlo‐
balConfigurationprompt.
2. FromtheGlobalConfigurationprompt,type
security,andpressENTERtoaccessthe
SecurityConfigurationprompt.
3. FromtheSecurityConfigurationprompt,type
password complexity,andpressENTER.
4. Type
end,andpressENTERtoreturntotheEnableprompt.
Oncecompleted,thefollowingoptionscanbeenabledordisabled.Toenable,simplyenterthe
commandasshown.Todisable,typenopasswordcomplexityfromtheSecurityConfigu‐
rationprompt.
