ptp vlan
ptp vlan
To configure a VLAN to generate the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) messages for Layer 2 interfaces,
use the ptp vlan command. To remove the PTP VLAN configuration from an interface, use the no form
of this command.
ptp vlan vlan-number
no ptp vlan vlan-number

Usage Guidelines Make sure that you have globally enabled PTP on the switch and configured the source IP address for
PTP communication.
Use this command only on Layer 2 Ethernet interfaces (1 Gigabit, 10-Gigabit, 40-Gigabit) or
port-channel members.
By default, VLAN 1 is used to generate the PTP messages on an interface. You must explicitly configure
the following VLANs to generate PTP messages on interfaces:
nondefault access VLANs on an access port
nondefault native VLANs on a trunk port
This command does not require a license.
Examples This example shows how to configure the PTP VLAN value on an interface:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 1/5
switch(config-if)# ptp vlan 9
switch(config-if)#
This example shows how to remove the PTP VLAN value from an interface:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 1/5
switch(config-if)# no vlan 9
switch(config-if)#
vlan-number VLAN number. The range is from 1 to 4094.
