2.5 Hazard zone
1
(1) Hazard zone does not apply to RIS* and RES*
Keep clear of the hazard zone during operation of the machine. The operator must
immediately shut down the machine in case of any threatening hazard and request
the people concerned to leave the hazard zone immediately. He may only restart the
machine when no people are located in the hazard zone anymore.
People wanting to approach the machine during operation must clearly communicate
their intentions to the operator (e.g. by calling or by agreed hand signals) to avoid mis-
understanding. During lifting, a strip with a width of 6 metres to the left and right of the
machine and 100 metres in front of the machine is deemed to be the hazard zone.
Around the leaf-spreader, a space with a radius of 30 metres is deemed to be the haz-
ard zone. As soon as a person enters this zone, the machine must be immediately
shut down and the person concerned must be requested to leave the hazard zone
immediately. The machine may only be restarted when no people are located in the
hazard zone anymore.
Only especially authorised people after exact agreement with the operator may enter
the hazard zones for maintenance or monitoring work. These people must be pre-
cisely informed about possibly occurring hazards before entering the hazard zones.
All activities between the operator and these people must be exactly agreed before
beginning these activities. All maintenance, adjusting and monitoring work on this
machine must – to the extent technically possible – always be performed with the
machine standing totally still and engine shut off. In this case, the operator of the
machine is responsible for ensuring that unauthorised persons do not operate the
machine either inadvertently or contrary to prior agreements.
