7.1.3.2 Replacing fuel prefilter cartridge and main fuel filter cartridge
The main fuel filter cartridge (1) (ROPA item no. 304002000) must be replaced every
1000 operating hours or at least once a year.
The fuel prefilter cartridge (2) (ROPA item no. 304002100) must be replaced every
2000 operating hours or at least every 2 years.
The main fuel filter cartridge must be replaced first as soon as the R-Touch shows the
warning icon. If this does not help, replace the fuel prefilter cartridge.

ATTENTION
Danger of machine damage
Foreign objects in the fuel system may damage the pump nozzle elements and cause
blockages!
– Keep the area absolutely clean when changing filters.
Proceed as follows to replace the main fuel filter cartridge:
– Park the vehicle and shut off engine.
– Clean a wide area around the fuel filter.
– Remove the filter cartridge with a filter wrench.
– Clean the sealing surfaces of the filter console. Remove all gasket residues.
– Lightly coat the sealing ring of the new cartridge with fuel.
– Install new filter cartridge. The main fuel filter cartridge is tightened about 3/4 revo-
lution after installation.
– Bleed the fuel system See Page 376.
– Check the fuel system for leaks.
