7.16 Air conditioning and ventilation system
If the air conditioning system doesn't cool sufficiently, it may be down to the following
causes:
– Air conditioning system condenser is clogged.
Remedy: clean the air conditioning system condenser
– Coolant circuit is filled insufficiently.
Remedy: Only possible for specialist personnel with the required special tools.
– Ventilation nozzles in the driver's cabin not opened.
Remedy: open ventilation nozzles.
– Ventilation nozzles in the driver's cabin dirty.
Remedy: clean ventilation nozzles.
If the heating and ventilation systems are not operating at full power, even when the
ventilation nozzle are completely open, the cause is usually due to clogged filters.
Therefore, always clean both filters.
7.16.1 Condenser air conditioning system
(1) Oil cooler CVR gearbox
(2) Condenser air conditioning system
(3) Hexagon nuts holding frame
– Check daily the condenser (2) of the air conditioning system on soiling.
– Remove the coarse dirt by hand, by cleaning the cooling system with the water
hose or using compressed air. Use a pressure cleaner only with a flat spray at
reduced pressure and from at least 30 cm away.
– The holding frame can be swung up for cleaning. For this purpose, loosen two
hexagonal nuts (3) on the front part of the holding frame and swing it up.
CAUTION
Hazard of damage to health and hazard of damage to the environment.
Maintenance work on the air conditioning system requiring opening of the coolant cir-
cuit (for instance refilling of coolant, exchange of the collector dryer, etc.) may only be
performed by an authorised specialist workshop.
