7.1.2 Oil change at diesel engine
The engine oil must be changed after 500 operating hours, or at least once a year.
The engine oil filters must be changed at every oil change. An oil change should
only be performed with an engine at operating temperature. Before performing the oil
change, park the machine on even ground and secure it against rolling away.
ADVICE
If the maximum sulphur content in the fuel is 15 ppm (as specified accord. EN 590
in the EU and ASTM D975 1-D and 2-D in the USA), the oil can be changed every
1,000 operating hours, but at least once a year.
CAUTION
Hot oil!
The oil in diesel engine may become very hot. Hazard of burning.
– When changing the engine oil, do not touch any hot components of the engine.
– Therefore, always wear protective gloves and suitable protective clothing during oil
change.
