364 / 564
The extracts from the Volvo maintenance manual can be found below. To preserve
Volvo guarantee and warranty claims to their full extent, the operator of the engine
must ensure that all of the maintenance work prescribed by Volvo has been performed
at the correct intervals by persons expressly authorised by Volvo. These people are
obliged to confirm correct and timely implementation of maintenance work in the origi-
nal maintenance vouchers.
7.1.1 Dry air filter
The diesel engine is equipped with one dry air filter, consisting of one main filter ele-
ment and one safety filter.
ATTENTION
Hazard of engine damages!
During filter change make sure of utmost cleanliness.
In addition, the diesel engine may never be operated without the filter elements.
The main filter element must be replaced:
every 1000 operating hours, but at least once a year (strongly recommended) or,
if the filter is damaged.
The safety filter is accessibly after removal of the main filter element. It protects the
diesel engine from dirt during maintenance of the main element or if the main filter ele-
ment is damaged.
The safety filter must be replaced:
as required, but no longer than after the main filter element has been replaced 3x.
