Overview
The SH12 has three fan modules (FTM-2s) installed at the top of the shelf. These
modules provide the necessary cooling to keep modules within acceptable operating
temperatures. The FTM-2s extract air through the shelf to cool the modules and exhaust
the hot air out at the shelf top rear. The air vents out at the back and sides for the ETSI
application and at the rear for NEBS application of the shelf.

The internal air temperature in the shelf controls the rotational speed of the fans. The
ECM-2 senses the internal temperature from the temperature probes mounted on the
different modules.
