16.6. Logging fan replacement dates
Thefanreplacementdatescanbeloggedtokeeptrackofthefanusage.Notethatrecordingthe
replacementdatedoesnotactivateanysortoftime-basedreplacementindicatororreplacement
schedule,itissimplyanoptionaltooltokeeptrackofthedateitwasreplaced.
1. GotoSystems > Thermal System > Thermal Controllers andselecttherespectivethermal
controller.
2. InsidetheFanstable,selecttheGO TO buttontoviewthetableforasinglefan.Onceviewing
asinglefan'stable,selecttheLog Fan Replacement buttonatthetopofthetable.Thiswill
automaticallysetthedatetotoday'sdate,andwilladditionallycreatearecordintheEvents &
Alerts page.
3. ThisentrycanalsobemanuallysetbyselectingtheEDIT buttontoallowcustomizationofthe
value.Whenmanuallyset,thereisnorecordcreatedintheEvents & Alerts page.
16.7. Alarms and alerts
Thissectionprovidesabriefoverviewalarmsandalertsforathermalsystem.
16.7.1. Thermal controller module alert to thermal system alarm propagation
Thethermalsystem'salarmstableislocatedinsidetheStatus & Config page.Thealarmsinthistable
aregeneratedfromaggregateddatafromthealertstablefromeachofthethermalcontrollersinthe
thermalsystem.Forexample,ifathermalcontrolleractivatesitsInternal Temperature High alert,then
thethermalsystemthatitbelongstowillactivateitsInternal Temperature High alarm.Likewise,ifone
ormultiplefansfailonathermalcontrollerinsidethethermalsystem,thenthethermalsystem'sFan Fail
alarmwillactivate.
TheexceptiontothispropagationruleistheThermal Controller Comms Lost alarm,whichactivatesin
theeventthatanythermalcontrollerinthatsystemlosescommunicationwiththecontroller.
Notice: A thermal controller must be assigned to a thermal system for its alerts to be counted in
the the CAN Modules table of the Modules page. Otherwise its alerts will show as unknown.
16.7.2. Identifying the origin of an active alarm
Intheeventthatathermalsystem'salarmisactive,selecttheactivealarmgraphic,orgotoAlarms >
Active Alarms.ThereisanActive Alarms table,aswellasanActiveModuleAlertstabledisplayed.For
mostthermalsystemalarms,therespectivemodulealertwillappearintheActiveModuleAlertstable.
