13.8.1. Introduction to Matrix C16™ high density connectorized DC distribution
breaker panel
TheMatrixC16™highdensityconnectorizedDCdistributionbreakerpanelprovideshighreliability,high
power,DCdistributioninacompact1RUspacetomaximizerackspaceforsignalequipment.
Traditionaltelecombreakerandfusepanelsuseterminallugsforoutputconnectionsandtherefore
requirespecializedtechnicianstoaddorchangeloads.TheMatrixC16paneluseslockingplug-
inconnectorsofferingasignificantimprovementineaseofuseandcostofinstallation.The1RU
configuration,with400Aofcurrentcapacityand16breakerpositions,offersindustryleadingdensity.
Acceptingsingle-polebreakersratedupto100Aeach,theMatrixC16panelcansupportthemajorityof
networkloadswithinheadends,COs,andhubsites.Theinternalbusworkhasbeenenlarged,adding33
percentmoretotalampacitythanourstandardMatrix300panel.

CXPS-HSS Hyperboost system
Onthecontroller,whenconnectedviaCANbusandacquired,theMatrixC16™highdensity
connectorizedDCdistributionbreakerpanel(device)isseenasamodule(Model:MatrixC16).Ifacquired
appropriately,ausercangototheModules pageoftheuserinterfacetoviewthatmodulewithinthe
CAN Modules table.UsetheGO TO buttontoseetheinformationpresentedbythemodule.
AlthoughMatrixC16moduledatacanbeobservedthroughtheModules pageoftheuserinterface,itcan
alsobeassignedtoaHyperboostsystem.ThebenefitsofassigningamoduletoaHyperboostsystem:1)
datafromallassignedMatrixC16moduleswillbeaggregated,2)alarmingcapabilitiesareavailable,3)
anddatafromthemoduleswillbepresentedontheHyperboostsystempowerflowdiagram.Modulesare
auto-assignedbydefaultbutassignmenttoanotherHyperboostsystemcanbedoneifdesired.
To assign Matrix C16 modules to a system:
1. GotoSystems > Hyperboost System > Inventory > Matrix C16 Modules
2. AnymodulesavailableforassignmentwillappearintheUnassigned Modules table.
Aftermodulesareassigned,aggregateddatacanbeviewedintheDistribution Summary tablefoundat
Systems > Converter System > Status.
