5.3.10.1. Configure a battery disconnect with latching contactor
To configure a battery disconnect with latching contactor:
1. GotoSystems > DC System > Inventory > Disconnects .
2. IntheDisconnects table,selecttheCreate Disconnect buttontolaunchthewizard.
3. AttheSelect Disconnect Type step,selectBattery Disconnect with Latching Contactor and
selecttheNext buttontoexitthewizard.
4. AnewlycreatedDisconnect willbedisplayedintheDisconnects table.

SelecttheGO TO buttonnexttothenewlycreateddisconnect.IntheConfiguration table,forthe
disconnect,configurethefollowing:
a. Enable:Thiswillenablethedisconnect.
b. Relay to Close:Thisistherelaythatwillbeusedtoclosethelatchingcontactor.Usingthe
selector,setthisrelaytotheADIOmodulerelaywhichcorrespondstotherelayinputofthe
latchingcontactorinterfacewhichwillclosethelatchingcontactor.
c. Relay to Open:Thisistherelaythatwillbeusedtoopenthelatchingcontactor.Usingthe
selector,settherelaytotheADIOmodulerelaywhichcorrespondstotherelayinputofthe
latchingcontactorinterfacewhichwillopenthelatchingcontactor.
d. Contactor State Source:Thisisthedigitalinputthatiswiredtosensethecontactorstate.
Usingtheselector,setthesourcetothedigitalinputwhichcorrespondstotheauxiliaryinput
ofthelatchingcontactorinterface.Forproperoperationofabatterydisconnectwithlatching
contactor,thissourceisrequiredtobeconfigured.

IntheDisconnect On Voltage table,configurethefollowing:
a. Voltage Disconnect Threshold:Thisisthevoltageatwhichthedisconnectwillactivate
andopentheconnection.Thisthresholdcannotbedisabled.
b. Voltage Connect Threshold:Thisisthevoltageatwhichthedisconnectwillde-activate
andreconnect.Thisthresholdcannotbedisabled.
5.3.11. Configure lead acid or NiCad battery parameters
Thesystemisonlypermittedtohaveasinglebattery.Thebatterymayconsistofmultiplebatterystrings.
WhentheDCSystemisbeingcreatedusingtheDCsystemcreationwizard,theuserwillbegiventhe
optionofaddingabatterytothesystem,ornot.
