TheHyperboostsystemcreatedwillhaveareasonablesetofdefaultsandassociatedalarms.Optional
converteritems,suchasName,Description,SystemNumber,andSerialNumber,canbeusedto
describeandorganizeyoursystem.
NewlydiscoveredconvertersareautomaticallyassignedtotheHyperboostsystem.Howeverifthereis
morethanoneHyperboostsystem,convertersaregroupedintoUnassigned Modules,andthenyoucan
addthemtothesystemmanually.
Youcanconfiguretheconverteralarmsassociatedwiththesystem.Youcanenableordisablethe
alarms,changethepriority,maprelaystothealarms,andwhereapplicable,modifythethresholds.
To create a converter system:
1. GotoSystems > Add or Remove Systems.
2. SelectCreate Converter System.Namethesystemifrequired.
3. FromtheSelect System Type dropdownlist.SelectHyperboost System 48V-58V
4. Stepthroughtherestofthewizardinstructions.
5. LaunchtheConfigure Hyperboost System wizardtoconfigurethebasicsystemsettingsandthe
systeminventory.
13.3. Configure the CXPS-HSS Hyperboost converters
Thesesettingsincludestartdelay,outputvoltage,orover-voltageprotectionthreshold.
Notice: The load bus output voltage is also the voltage that the converters default to if they lose
communication with the controller. The converters will drop any of the adjustments made by the
controller to perform load sharing and just try to meet the configured output voltage.
Thisfeaturehasatimedelaythatvariesaccordingtoconverters.Mostconvertersreverttooutputmode
afterfiveminutes.Checktheconvertermanualforalistofdefaultparameters.
To configure the converters:
1. GotoSystems > Hyperboost System > Inventory > Converters > Configuration.
2. IntheConfiguration table,setupyourconvertergroupconfigurationsettings.Theseinclude,
Load Bus Output Voltage andLoad Bus Over-voltage Protection Limit threshold.
3. Configurethesettingsfortheconverters.Thevaluesforthesesettingsdependonyourspecific
system.
13.4. Configure the shunts
Bydefaultthesystemhasnoshunts.Youmayaddorremoveshuntsasneeded.
ToconfigureashuntyouneedanADIOmodulewithcurrentinputs.Theshuntwillmapthecurrentinputs
fromtheADIOmoduletotheLoad Current Source fieldoftheLoad configurationtableortheBattery
Current Source fieldoftheBattery Configuration table.
