ThissectionprovidesabriefoverviewofthecomponentsandfunctionsofanACsourcesystem.AC
sourcesystemsareintendedtobeusedbycustomerswhoneedtomodelmultipleACsourcesfortheir
system.AnexamplemightbeasystemthathasasetofrectifiersfedfromACmains,andadifferentset
fedfromagenerator.ForcustomerswithasingleACsource,orevenmultiplesourcessuchasmainsand
generatorwhichswitchoverautomaticallywithatransferswitch,itisusuallynotnecessarytomodelan
ACsourcesystem.
12.1. Create an AC source system
ThereisnoACsourcesystemonanewcontroller.CreatinganACsourcesystemisdoneusingthe
Create System wizard.Thereisnoconfigurationrequiredatthesystemlevel.
YoucanalsoimportaACsourcesystemviaaconfigurationfile.
ThecontrollersupportsmultipleACsourcesystems.MultipleACsourcescanbemodeledwithinthe
sameACsourcesystem.UserscangroupACsourcestogethertobestsuittheirspecificusecase.
Whenfirstcreated,anACsourcesystemisempty.ACsourcesmustbeaddedtogivethesystem
meaning.Thesystem-widevoltagereadingsareUnknown whenthesystemisfirstcreated.These
valueswillbetheaverageofallACsourcevoltagesforeachphase.
To create an AC source system:
1. GotoSystems > Add or Remove Systems andselecttheCreate System buttontolaunchthe
Create System wizard.
2. Fromthedropdownlist,selectAC Source System,thenselectDone.
3. AnACsystemisaddedtotheInventory table.
4. GotoSystems > AC Source System > Status & Config andenteraName,Description andany
otheridentifyinginformationrequired.
12.2. Create an AC source
AnAC Source willrepresentoneACinputtothesystem,forexampleACMains.
To create and configure an AC source:
1. GotoSystems > AC Source System > Inventory.
2. IntheAC Sources table,selectAdd AC Source.TheAdd AC Source wizardwilllaunch.
3. SettheName toidentifytheAC Source.

SelectoneofthreetypesofACsources.
