20.2.6. Alarm summary relays
Therearethreealarmsummaryrelaysthatcanbeconfiguredonthecontroller.Theserelaysare
connectedtoexternalmonitoringequipmentwhichprovidesanotificationwhenthecontrollerentersan
alarmstate.

Toviewthem,gotoAlarms > Settings > Alarm Summary Relay.
TherelaymappedtotheController Critical Relay isactivewheneveroneormorecriticalalarmsare
active.Controller Major Relay,Controller Minor Relay,andController Warning Relay workinthe
sameway.
20.2.7. Create user alarms
Thecontrollerhasasetofdefaultstandardalarmsthatareassociatedwithasystemoraninventory
itemsuchasaloadoradisconnect.Thesestandardalarmsmaybeenoughtosupportmanysystem
configurations.Itisalsocommontoneedadditionalalarms,basedonthestatusofthedigitalinputsoron
thethresholdofananalogvaluereadfromtheinputofanADIOmodule.
Youcancreateanynumberofdigitalorthresholdalarms.Thesealarmshavethesamebehavioras
standardalarmssuchasalarmcut-off,SNMPtraps,andrelaymapping.Theseuser-definedalarmscan
becreatedandremovedviatheController > Programmability > User Alarms menu.
To create a user alarm:
1. GotoController > Programmability > User Alarms.

Selectthetypeofuseralarmtocreate.Anewrowfortheuseralarmwilldisplayinthetable.
◦ IfyouwanttocreateadigitalalarmselecttheAdd Digital User Alarm button.
◦ IfyouwanttocreateahighorlowthresholdalarmselecttheAdd Threshold User Alarm
button.
3. SelecttheGO TO buttoninthealarmlineitem.Twotablesdisplay.Onetableshowsthefieldsto
configurethatarespecifictotheselecteduseralarm.Theothertableshowsthestandardalarm
configuration.
4. Givethealarmadescriptivename.Thisisimportantsincethesametypeofuseralarmshavethe
samedefaultname.Thealarmdescriptionisoptional.
5.
Selectthealarminputsource.Therearedifferentoptionsdependingonthetypeofuseralarmyou
arecreating.
