1. GotoSystems > Line Power System > Layout toidentifytheshelfandslotofthefailedmodule.
Amodulecausinganalarmwillbehighlightedwitharedborder.Ifthereismorethanonemodule
inalertitmaybenecessarytoselectthechannel,thenselectthemoduledetailslinktodetermine
thecauseofthefailure.
2. Unplugthefailedmoduleandreplaceitwithanewmodule.
3. SelecttheForget All in Comms Lost buttoninordertocleartheLP Module Comms Lost alarm.
Thenewmoduleisacquiredanditschannelsareautomaticallyassignedtothesameloadthattheold
modulewasassignedto.
19.4. Battery maintenance
Thissectioncoversthefollowing:batteryalarms,chargingbatteries,andmaintainingbatteries.
19.4.1. Battery alarms
ToviewtheBattery Alarms menugotoSystems > DC System > Inventory > Battery.
Whenthebatterychargecurrentexceedsthethreshold,theBattery Charge Current High alarmis
active.Thealarmmayoccurduringbatterychargingiftherearelargeloadfluctuations.Thealarmcan
alsobecausedbyanincorrectalarmthresholdorbatterychargecurrentlimitsetting.Thealarmwillclear
whenthebatterychargecurrentislessthanorequaltothethresholdminusthehysteresis.
Whenthehighestbatterytemperaturevaluerisesabovethethreshold,theBattery Temperature High
alarmisactive.Thealarmwillclearwhenthehighestbatterytemperaturevalueislessthanorequalto
thethresholdminushysteresis.
Whenthelowestbatterytemperaturevaluehasfallenbelowthethreshold,theBattery Temperature Low
alarmisactive.Thealarmwillclearwhenthelowestbatterytemperatureisgreaterthanorequaltothe
thresholdplushysteresis.
Inabatterysystem,theBattery Breaker/Fuse Open alarmwilltriggerwheneverybatterystringwithin
thebatterysystemhasabreakerorfusethathasopened.
EachbatterystringwithinabatterysystemhasitsownBattery Breaker/Fuse Open alarmwhichcango
activewhenthebatterybreakerorfuseisopen.Thealarmcanoccurwhenthedigitalinputthatdetects
thestateofthebreakerorfuseisactive.Toverifyconfiguration,theBreaker/Fuse Source oneach
batterystringcanbeverified.Thissourceistypicallyassignedtoadigitalinputsourcethatdetectsthe
stateofabreakerorfuse.Thealarmmayalsobecausedbyincorrectorfaultywiringorincorrectdigital
inputsettings.Thealarmwillclearwhenthedigitalinputisnotactive.
Whenthebatteryvoltageminusthemidpointvoltagemeasurementisgreaterthanthethreshold,the
Midpoint Unbalanced alarmisactive.Thealarmcanbecausedbyanimbalanceinbatterycellsor
blocksandmayindicateanequalizechargeisnecessary.Thealarmmayalsobecausedbydamaged
orend-of-lifecells.Thealarmwillclearwhenthedifferencebetweenhalfthebatteryvoltageandthe
midpointvoltageislessthanorequaltothethresholdminusthehysteresis.
