5.1.1. The battery mode
TheBattery Mode value,asshownintopsectionofthewebinterfaceorinthesystemStatus page,
indicatesthestateofthebatteryinthesystem.
Inasystemwithafullychargedbattery,theBattery Mode willbeFloat whichindicatesthebatteryis
floating.
Inasystemthatischarging,theBattery Mode willbeCharging.TheadjacentvalueeithershowBulk
(batteryischargingatconstantcurrent)orAbsorption (batteryisintheabsorptionphaseofcharging).
InasystemthatisdischargingtheBattery Mode willeitherbeDischarging (ACmainshasfailed)or
Test Discharging (batterytestinprogress).
TheBattery Mode mayalsobeNo Battery (nobatteryinthesystem),Disconnected (batteryappears
disconnected)orUnknown.WhenitisUnknown thenthecontrollerisbusytryingtodeterminethestate
ofthebattery.Ifthisvaluepersistsformorethenaminuteorso,itmayindicatethatoneormoreofthe
followingmaynotbeproperlyconfigured:
• Loadcurrent
• Batterycurrent
• Batterycapacity
• Systemvoltage
• Batteryvoltage(itisrecommendthatsystemvoltageandbatteryvoltagetobeconfiguredtoread
thesame)
