arethreesubmenusrelatedtobatterymaintenance:Equalize and Boost,Battery Test andBattery
Runtime & Heath.NotethatyoumusthaveabatterydefinedintheDCSysteminordertohavethese
menuitemsavailableunderSystem Functions.

Equalize isaprotectivefeaturedesignedtoensureoptimalleadacidbatterylifeandperformance.
Overtime,individualbatterycellvoltagesmayvarygreatly.Toensurethatbatteriesremaininoptimum
condition,theyshouldbeperiodicallyequalizecharged.Anequalizechargeisaforcedovercharge.It
removessulfationthatmayhaveformedduringlow-chargeconditions.Thisfunctionalitycanbestarted
manuallywhenthebatteriesarefullychargedandfloating.
Boost issimilartoequalizebutusuallyhasahighervoltage.InordertostartBoost,theTerminate/
Disallow Boost When False or ‘---’ conditionmustbeconfiguredtoavaluetoistrue,oractive.Thisis
toprovideameanstodetectwhendroppingdiodeshavebeenswitchedintothebusfirst(betweenthe
rectifiersandtheload),beforeallowingBoost toactivate.

ABattery Test isusedtoverifythehealthofaleadacidbattery.
Battery Runtime & Health amongotherthings,thismenuprovidesinformationrelatedtothebattery's
estimatedstateofcharge(SOC),estimatedruntimeintheeventofACMainsloss,andestimatedbattery
health.
Abatteryruntimepredictionisperformedwhilethebatteryissupplyingpowertotheload.Thecontroller
collectsdatatoestimatethetimeitwilltakethebatterytobedrained.Ifthebatteryestimationisenabled
andthebatteryissourcingcurrenttotheload,theestimatedbatteryruntimeifAC Mains islostdisplays.
DuringanACoutageorbatterytest,dataiscollectedtocalculatetheestimatedstateofchargeand
theestimatedhealthofthebattery.Theaccuracyofthisdataimprovesasthebatteryundergoesmore
dischargecycles.
