Warning:
In use of a scraper, wear gloves to prevent
hand injury.
When the rear windshield is not reused
Be cautious:
If it is difficult to remove the sealant of a
certain component, use a piano string as
shown in Fig., according to the steps as
indicated When the Windshield is Reused.
1. Use the tool as shown in Fig, and insert the
string into the sealant;
2. Draw the tool around the glass to cut the
sealant.
3. Remove the rear windshield.
When the rear windshield is reused
1. Pierce , through the sealant with an awl from
the interior to exterior and drill a small hole
(except the places where the fixer, joint and
pad A are available)
2. Pass the SST (piano string) through the small
hole.
Warning:
Wear gloves in use of piano string, otherwise
it will result in hand injury, thus gloves must
be worn in use of the piano string;
3. Wind both ends of string on the handle.
Attention:
When cutting sealant with a piano string, a
complete piece of string shall be used to
prevent breakage.
4. Working with another person to cut sealant
along the edge of glass. Be cautious not to
scratch the bodywork.
5. Remove the rear windshield glass.
6. Remove the locking block and fixer.
