Disassembly/assembly of dashboard
1. Remove the combination switch (See Part
T——External Lighting System,
Disassembly/Assembly of Combination
Switch)
2. Remove the mounting bolt, and then shift the
steering shaft assembled on the dashboard (See
N——Engine Speed Sensing Power Steering,
Disassembly/Assembly of Steering Wheel and
Steering column);
3. Remove the combination instrument (See Part
T——Warning and Indicator System,
Disassembly/Assembly of Combination
Instrument)
4. Remove the auxiliary fascia console (See——
Disassembly/Assembly of Auxiliary Fascia
Console);
5. Remove the sundries bin cover;
6. Remove the lower left panel;
7. Remove the mounting screw of opening line on
the engine bonnet;
8. Remove the front side trim panel;
9. Remove the trim panel of column A (See
——Trim, Disassembly/Assembly of Trim
Panel of Column A);
10. Remove the R/L side panels;
11. Disconnect the connection of EM harness plug;
12. Disconnect the wire between the blower and
heater unit (See U——Disassembly/ Assembly
of A/C Control Unit)
13. Disconnect the plugs of fuse and middle
harnesses;
14. Remove the middle hole cap above the
dashboard;
15. Remove the bolt;
Warning
l It is dangerous to dismount the dashboard.
The dashboard is likely to drop down and
hurt you. Thus, work together with at least
one person when dismounting the
dashboard.
16. Remove the dashboard from the vehicle;
(1) Slowly incline forward the dashboard;
(2) Lift the dashboard while it is inclined forward;
(3) Remove the dashboard through the front door
of occupant side;
17. Install as per the reverse order with that of the
removal.
Disassembly/assembly of dashboard
1. Break down in the order as shown in the Table
below;
2. Install as per the reverse order with that of
removal.
