SynchronizingtheES80bymeansofaserialport
IfyouwanttousetheES80asamasterorslaveinasynchronizedsystem,youmustset
itupforsuchoperation.Todothis,youmustselectwhichcommunicationporttousefor
thesynchronizationinterface,andyoumustselecttherequestedsynchronizationmode.
Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:

YouhaveanRS2-232interfaceportonyourProcessorUnitthatallowsyoutousethe
CTS/RTSconnections.
For"slave"operation,aremotesystem(forexampleK-Sync)mustbeavailableto
providetriggerpulses.For"master"operation,aremotehydroacousticsystem(sonar,
echosounder)isconnected.Thisremotesystemmustbesetupin"slave"mode.
Context
Whenevermorethanonehydroacousticsystemisinstalledonavessel,interferencemay
occur.Toavoidinterference,youhavetheseoptions:
Thesystemsareallconnectedtoacommonsynchronizationsystem.
Oneoftheacousticsystemsissetupas"master",andcontrolsthetransmissionson
theothersystems.
TheES80offersfunctionalityforremotetransmitsynchronization.Itcanbesetupto
operateineitherMasterorSlavemode.

TheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)offersan
Auxiliary
portthatcanbeusedfor
synchronisationpurposes.Thissynchronizationmethodmaybemorestablethatthe
traditionalCTS/RTSconnectiontoaserialport.
