TheBottomHardnessinformationpaneshowsyouthecurrentbottomreectivity.This
indicateswhattypeofbottomyouhaveunderyourkeel.Thevalueiscalculatedusing
thebottomechostrengthinthecurrentping.
Howtoopen
ToopentheBottomHardnessinformationpane,clickinthechosenviewto
activateit,thenselecttheBottomHardnessbuttononthetopbar.Toclosethe
informationpane,selectthebuttononthetopbaronemoretime.Youcanalso
selectCloseinthetoprightcornerofthepane.
Description
Thebottomhardnessshownintheinformation
panewasdetectedbythelatestpinginthe
selectedview.Thecoloursontheleftsideofthe
scaleindicateasoftbottom,whilethecolours
ontherighthandsideindicateaharderbottom.
Theverticallineinthehardnesscolourscale
positionsthelatestping.Thecurrentreectivity
isalsoshownmeasuredindB.
Tip
TheHardnessLinecanbeaddedtoyourechogramtoretrieveadditionalinformation.It
appearsasthickcolourcodedlinethatfollowsthebottomcontour .Thislinedoesnot
removeinformation,itsimply"pushes"theechoinformationfurtherdowninorderto
showyouthebottomreectivity.
Whenyoustudythebottomhardness,youcanlearnmoreaboutthebottom.Certain
speciesareknowntopreferspecicbottomconditions.Withmoreknowledge,youare
betterqualiedtoestimatethepossiblecatch.
